Rotorua

Visit Rotorua, found on the North Island of New Zealand, and you’ll fall in love with two things: its beautiful water and its fascinating culture. The town is known for its mud pools, hot springs and geysers, such as the 30-meter-tall (100 feet) Pohutu Geyser, which can be seen erupting multiple times daily. Steam surrounds the gurgling mud pools of Te Puia’s Whakarewarewa Valley, creating a jaw-dropping sight. Along with these wonders of nature, Rotorua is home to Māori culture; with a living Māori village and the New Zealand Māori Arts and Craft institute nearby, their traditions and practices, including wood carving and weaving, fill the community.
